Again, your academic advisor can help you determine which Schoolcraft courses will transfer to a particular program based on the existing agreement. These agreements ensure that you take as many credits as possible with Schoolcraft prior to the transfer. Articulation chords can be called “2 +2” or “3 +1”. We have over 40 articulation agreements (also known as special transfer agreements) with four-year colleges and universities. Today we`re going to dive into Schoolcraft to U™ and the Michigan transfer agreement. Before you begin, know that your academic advisor is your best resource for more information, exploring your options, and setting you up for success. General training requirements include courses in English, Social Sciences, Humanities and Fine Arts, Science and Mathematics. You can complete them as part of an associate`s degree or as a stand-alone MTA certificate. Some regulations apply, so work with your Schoolcraft College academic advisor to select the right courses. Many Schoolcraft College students start here with the goal of earning a bachelor`s degree from a four-year college or university. It`s a great strategy for many reasons, including: The MTA is a statewide agreement that provides for the transfer of 30 college credits to meet many (and in some cases, all) general training requirements at participating four-year colleges and universities in Michigan. General education is part of any associate`s or bachelor`s degree.

If you want to attend a four-year school in Michigan, the Michigan Transfer Agreement can help. This agreement allows you to take your basic or general education courses first at Schoolcraft (again, this is usually much more profitable) rather than in a four-year school. You could achieve this in just one year at Schoolcraft. . You must have a total of 30 credits or more of MTA courses with grades of 2.0 or higher… Learning, of course, is the goal of any university experience. Part of this learning is understanding certain terms that may not be familiar. Don`t worry, we have it all for you. In a “2+2” agreement, you take two years of full-time instruction at Schoolcraft, then two years full-time at the four-year school. In a “3+1” agreement, you will complete three years of courses at Schoolcraft, followed by one year at the four-year school. Students can earn the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) certification by completing at least 30 credits and 9 courses in five areas: English composition/communication, humanities, social sciences, sciences, mathematics.

When a student with an MTA certification moves to another college or university, all of their overall education requirements must be met at a lower level. There are a few exceptions, so work with your academic advisor to choose the right courses. Think of Schoolcraft to U™ as the overall strategy or roadmap that will help you develop an academic plan to achieve this goal. Schoolcraft to U™ shows transfer guides and articulation agreements, sometimes called special transfer agreements, with four-year schools in Michigan that show classes that prepare you for transfer. Many students take courses or complete programs with us and then transfer to a four-year institution.
